Martin is a partner at Bird&Bird, the only international law firm with a presence in Denmark, where he advises on international and cross border legal matters and transactions for both large blue-chip firms and SMEs. Considered a pioneer within the Internet and web industry, Martin is also well known in the local startup scene. Over the last 20 years, he co-founded several startups and served on a number of boards of eCommerce and IT or web companies. We are pleased about having lawyer of his calibre as a part of our extended team.
"I have worked with companies providing solutions and services based on open licensing and have been involved in the open source community for more then 15 years. Bitcoin was released as open source in 2009. This technical innovation is relatively young and many institutions are still figuring out how digital currency fits into existing frameworks. I can draw a parallel here between Bitcoin and the internet - back in 1994, when it became global commercial phenomenon, and I introduced the concept of Internet law in Denmark. Coinify is a forerunner in the Danish digital currency market and apart from complying to the standard practices in the fintech sector, they show great responsibility in self-regulating their own business activities. I am very excited to have the opportunity to counsel Coinify on legal matters."
